I looked back at Bp Kelsey’s letter regarding the spring HoB meeting and the comments it generated including one from myself that had to be edited because it went a little over the top. In particular, I was much offended by his labeling my rector, Ephraim Radner, as “dissident” in my own church.
I am quite sure that Father Ephraim will be praying for the bishop and the family he leaves behind, so will I.
This is sad news. Bishop Kelsey exercised leadership in TEC in the Church’s work in caring for creation. He will be missed by all of us in TEC involved in issues of science, technology and faith.
+Jim’s visionary ministry advocating for the full inclusion of all the baptized into the Body of Christ touched lives far beyond his Diocese of Northern Michigan and witnessed the deep authenticity of his commitment to TOTAL Ministry. We grieve his loss today as we give thanks for the blessing of his life and witness and for his companionship on the journey.
May his soul and the souls of all the departed, through the. mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen
We pray for you – the grieving family, and friends, and for the diocese – that God’s peace will be present to console, that the tearing apart will be met by the enveloping embrace of the Holy Spirit.

The television statio in Marquette, WLUC Channel 6, had this report Sunday evening and issued an update earlier this morning.
